Final Infographic
This is my final infographic project for my Graphic Design Class. I am really happy with the outcome and think that everything that I intended really comes across.
The story behind this is:
Every summer, I volunteer at Camp Quality which is a camp for kids that have cancer. This past summer, I was paired up with Vladimir for the week. Vlad is a 6 year old boy, which is an experience that I haven't quite had to take on yet. One thing that I learned about 6 year old boys, is that they have a pretty small attention span. So I figured that would make for an interesting project.
The bubble represent each of the things that Vlad's attention was on for a while. The color ring corresponds with description of it on the right. The bigger the bubble, as well as higher the word, the more of Vlad's attention was focused on it.

Infographic Map
So for my Orientation to Graphic Design class, we are doing an infographic map over an eventful day in our lives. I decided to combine my week at Camp Quality into one day and create my infographic over that.
For the layout, I am modeling it after MTV's Twitter Tracker:
I'll post more updates as it comes along.

Nutrition PSA
My campaign is called “An Apple A Day”. Its purpose is to show all the benefits that different fruits and vegetables can provide. I see my campaign starting as a series of posters, each focusing on a different fruit or vegetable. From there, I’d like to see it maybe turn to a website and/or app where you type in the different food and it tells you what it can do for you in the form of the poster. I feel like the poster seems interactive because of the handwriting on the blank and it could really go with a website and app by having people type the food in the blank of an online version of the poster. I am hoping that by using an app it would really help to stop people before they pick out there snack and persuade them to pick up a healthier option.
Along with that, I hope to see this campaign used by state University Extensions with their nutrition classes. I think its important to show kids at an early age what they can be preventing. They also teach classes to adults, who would really care and absorb these facts.

Paula Scher
Pentagram
So I recently had a class assignment where I had to research and collaborate with a Graphic Designer. I chose Paula Scher. I really loved all of her work, and found a few things that I had in common with her. This particular piece was extremely inspiring to me because it was in a school to help inspire children in a learning environment.

“Tell yourself at every step in the design process that someone has undoubtedly already thought of this and what can you do to really set it apart. In design, and particularly logo design, the pessimistic axiom that “everything has already been done” is becoming more and more true, and it is only the virtuous designer who can continue to stand out in a sea of sameness.”
